The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has rescued 184 individuals from human trafficking in Plateau State, including three pregnant women. Acting Head of Counselling and Rehabilitation Anne Felix disclosed the figures in Jos during a state meeting on women, peace, and security. She explained that raids conducted in multiple locations in Jos over recent months led to the rescue of men, women, teenagers, and minors under 18. Five victims are currently receiving care and rehabilitation at NAPTIP centres. Felix revealed that in December, the agency secured convictions against some traffickers who are now serving jail terms. In January, NAPTIP intercepted another group of victims being transported to Akure for trafficking, reuniting them with their families while prosecuting suspects. The agency reaffirmed commitment to ending human trafficking in Plateau and across Nigeria, supporting survivors with skills and empowerment programmes.
