President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Danjuma Adamu Ismaila as the new Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria. With expertise in air transport management and aviation security, Ismaila is expected to enhance training standards, improve safety, and align NCAT with global aviation best practices. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Danjuma Adamu Ismaila as the new Rector and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), located in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The announcement was made in Abuja through a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. Dr. Ismaila, a seasoned expert in air transportation management, aviation security, and transport economic policy, is expected to bring a wealth of knowledge to the institution.
Dr. Ismaila earned his degree in Physics from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, in 1989 and later obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Transportation. He has also participated in various specialized training programs, workshops, and seminars focusing on civil aviation management and transportation.
His professional affiliations include membership in the Royal Aeronautical Society (UK) and the Air Transport Research Society, highlighting his vast experience in the field. Before this appointment, he worked as a lecturer at the Federal University of Transportation in Daura, Katsina State, where he played a key role in educating future aviation and transport professionals.
With his new role, Dr. Ismaila is expected to enhance NCAT’s capacity to train aviation professionals and improve Nigeria’s aviation industry. His leadership is anticipated to align the institution with global aviation standards, ensuring better training, safety, and technological advancements in the sector.
The appointment underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s aviation sector through experienced leadership and institutional development.
