Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi recently shared insights into the challenges of competing in the English Championship, following the team's successful promotion back to the Premier League for the 2024-25 season. Speaking during a visit to a sports facility at the Maracana Sports Complex in Ajegunle, Lagos, Ndidi highlighted the demanding nature of the Championship, emphasizing the rigorous schedule and extensive travel involved in playing multiple games within a short period, including weekends and weekdays.

Ndidi described the experience of playing in the Championship as "difficult," but also acknowledged its value as an "eye-opener." He expressed gratitude for the lessons learned during their one-year absence from the Premier League, noting that the experience helped the team appreciate the elite status of the Premier League even more. "Now we are back in the Premier League, and I don’t think we will ever want to go down there because it’s really difficult," Ndidi remarked, underlining the team's determination to remain in the top flight.

Beyond Leicester City's success, Ndidi also shared his confidence in the new Super Eagles coach, Finidi George. Describing George as an "exceptional individual," Ndidi expressed eagerness to collaborate with him once again for the benefit of the national team.
