The Digest:The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made a breakthrough in its fight against drug trafficking, seizing opioids and other drugs worth over N7.8 billion and arresting a notorious kingpin.
- NDLEA arrested a drug kingpin, Sunday Ibigide, after a 3-year manhunt.
- He was caught in Delta State with 138kg of skunk.
- Operatives intercepted 875,000 bottles of codeine at Onne Port.
- They also seized N3.5 million tramadol pills worth N1.7 billion.
- In Enugu, over 37,000kg of cannabis was destroyed.
- A total of over 538,000 pills of opioids were recovered nationwide.
- Drug arrests were also made in Kaduna, Lagos, Kano, and other states.
