NDLEA officer Aliyu Imran was brutally killed by a mob in Kaduna after a high-speed chase led to a fatal accident. Imran, attempting to calm tensions, was stabbed and later burned alive. His family accuses NDLEA of neglect, but the agency denies it, promising investigations and support.

A tragic incident unfolded in Kaduna’s Igabi Local Government Area, where an NDLEA officer, Aliyu Imran, was brutally murdered by an angry mob. The attack occurred after Imran and his colleagues pursued a suspected drug dealer whose reckless escape attempt resulted in multiple fatalities.

According to sources, the suspect, trying to evade arrest, reversed his vehicle, leading to the deaths of at least three individuals. Imran stepped forward to calm the crowd as tensions rose, but enraged locals turned on him. He was stabbed multiple times before a police officer managed to transport him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

However, the situation took a darker turn when the mob stormed the hospital, dragged Imran outside, and set him on fire. His family has since expressed frustration over the NDLEA’s response, accusing the agency of failing to offer immediate support or publicly address the tragedy.

The NDLEA, in response, dismissed allegations of neglect. The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, confirmed that top officials had visited the family and that an internal investigation was underway. He also revealed that the commander involved in the operation had been suspended as part of ongoing inquiries.

This incident adds to a growing list of security personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty. While the NDLEA has promised justice, the brutal nature of Imran’s killing has sparked outrage, raising concerns over the safety of law enforcement officers in volatile regions.
