Senator Ali Ndume compares President Tinubu's administration to former President Buhari's, praising Buhari for greater accessibility. Ndume argues that even ministers struggle to meet Tinubu, unlike during Buhari and Obasanjo's tenures. He urges improved openness and communication within the current government.

Senator Ali Ndume has compared the current administration under President Bola Tinubu to that of former President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that Buhari's administration was more accessible. Speaking on Arise TV, Ndume, the Chief Whip in the Senate, argued that despite perceived shortcomings, Buhari’s government was more open and allowed people, including ministers, access to the president.

Ndume highlighted that during Buhari's tenure, people could see the president more easily. In contrast, under Tinubu, even some ministers struggle to gain access. He noted that during council meetings, ministers only see the president when he enters and leaves, emphasizing a lack of direct communication.

Ndume contrasted this with former President Obasanjo’s administration, where any senator could meet the president within 24 hours, and ministers frequently interacted with him. He mentioned Obasanjo’s older age but praised his accessibility and willingness to engage with officials, regardless of their rank.

The senator expressed concern that the current government shields President Tinubu from the realities faced by Nigerians. He believes that those around Tinubu often reassure him that everything is fine, which Ndume asserts is not the case. Ndume stressed the importance of leaders being in touch with the people, listening to their concerns, and being more accessible to those within the government.
