Nigerian media personality Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, has taken legal action against social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), over alleged defamatory statements.

In a pre-action notice served on February 24, 2025, Nedu’s legal representatives accused VDM of spreading false and damaging claims about their client and Tokindrumz Picture and Media Ltd. The dispute centers around a 12-minute video uploaded on February 19, where VDM allegedly accused Nedu of diverting a scholarship fund meant for Nigerians. The legal team described the video as misleading, defamatory, and filled with false narratives.

The notice highlights that Nedu was never compensated for his involvement in the charity program and clarifies that he is not the owner of Tokindrumz but a talent under the brand. Additionally, it points out that authorities had previously investigated the scholarship controversy without finding sufficient evidence to support VDM’s claims.

As part of the legal demands, Nedu has requested that VDM delete all defamatory content from his social media platforms within 24 hours, issue a public apology, and pay ₦500 million in damages. Failure to comply may lead to a formal lawsuit.

This legal move has sparked reactions online, with social media users debating the implications of VDM’s statements and the potential consequences of the lawsuit.
