Stranded Super Eagles players, affected by the NLC/TUC strike, have successfully arrived in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, confirmed by the NFF's Director of Communications. The strike disrupted flights, hindering some players' travel from Lagos and Abuja.
Demola Olajire, Director of Communications for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), confirmed on Tuesday that Super Eagles players stranded in Lagos and Abuja due to the NLC/TUC strike have arrived in Uyo, Akwa Ibom's capital.
The strike had grounded flights, preventing some players from joining the team's camp. Only 15 players trained in Uyo on Monday, with Head Coach Finidi George emphasizing the importance of securing three points in Friday's match. The statement noted that defenders Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Calvin Bassey, midfielder Frank Onyeka, and forward Paul Onuachu were already in the country, aiming to reach Uyo for preparations.
Olajire confirmed the stranded players' arrival in Uyo, ensuring the team's readiness for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
