Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), has announced her bid for a second term as she prepares to conclude her current four-year mandate in August 2025. Her announcement comes amid a strong wave of support from member countries, reflecting confidence in her leadership.

In response to the support, Okonjo-Iweala expressed gratitude, noting that her achievements were the result of collaborative efforts with member states. The forthcoming re-nomination process marks a pivotal moment for the WTO as it seeks to strengthen its impact on international trade.
