Nicholas Ukachukwu, former House of Representatives member, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket for Anambra’s 2025 election. Ukachukwu dominated the party's primary, earning 1,455 votes, leaving his closest rival, Valentine Ozigbo, with just 67 votes. Other contenders, including Edozie Madu and Johnbosco Onunkwo, garnered 8 and 26 votes, respectively.

In his victory speech, Ukachukwu vowed to lead the APC to success in the forthcoming election, boasting about his political influence in Anambra. He remarked, "No one has won the governorship of Anambra without my support, and I’m determined to change the political landscape."

Ahead of the primary election, three aspirants—Chukwuma Umeoji, Obiora Okonkwo, and Paul Chukwuma—had withdrawn, reducing competition. The election will take place on November 8, 2025, and Ukachukwu is determined to drive the state’s transformation under APC leadership.
