Chelsea dropped points against Crystal Palace, drawing 1-1 at Selhurst Park. Despite an early goal from Cole Palmer, missed chances by Nicolas Jackson and others allowed Palace to equalize late through Jean-Philippe Mateta. Chelsea's wastefulness in front of goal cost them all three points.

Chelsea were left frustrated after settling for a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, with missed chances proving costly. The Blues had the better of the first half, opening the scoring in the 14th minute through Cole Palmer, assisted by Jadon Sancho. However, Chelsea failed to capitalize on several opportunities to extend their lead, with Nicolas Jackson and Josh Acheampong among those guilty of wasting chances.

In the second half, Palace grew into the game, and Chelsea were made to pay for their inability to put the game to bed. Eberechi Eze missed a golden chance to equalize early in the second half, but it was Jean-Philippe Mateta who would make the difference in the dying minutes. After a loose pass from Palmer, Palace countered quickly, and Mateta slid the ball past goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to level the score.

Despite a strong performance from Sancho, who was instrumental in the opening goal, Chelsea's inability to finish clinically cost them all three points. Defensively, Levi Colwill and Josh Acheampong performed well, but Marc Cucurella struggled, especially in the lead-up to Palace’s equalizer.

Manager Enzo Maresca will be disappointed with his team's inability to convert chances, leaving them with more questions than answers as they head into the next match. Chelsea now face an uphill task to regain their momentum and improve their finishing.
