Kenya Airways faces an investigation by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) following the alleged mistreatment of Nigerian passenger Omisore in Nairobi. The altercation, which involved denied boarding and a viral video, is being reviewed. The NCAA is demanding CCTV footage and addressing concerns about passenger treatment.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has summoned the acting station manager of Kenya Airways following an incident involving the alleged mistreatment of Nigerian passenger Omisore. The altercation occurred in Nairobi as Omisore, on a connecting flight from Manchester, was denied boarding for lacking a Schengen visa for France, a requirement for entering the EU.

A video showing the heated exchange between Omisore and the airline staff quickly went viral. The Nigerian official, Tunde Moshood, highlighted the mistreatment of Nigerian passengers by Kenya Airways. In response, Kenya Airways claimed that Omisore's behavior escalated after she was offered an alternative route, which she declined. The airline also claimed that she threw used sanitary pads at staff, though the full context was not shown in the video. They condemned her actions but affirmed that the incident was under investigation.

The NCAA has since invited the acting station manager to meet with them to address the concerns. They are also demanding CCTV footage to substantiate Kenya Airways' claims regarding Omisore's behavior. Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s director of public affairs, emphasized that while unruly behavior would not be tolerated, the airline should have prevented Omisore from boarding in Lagos if she was not qualified due to her visa status.

The NCAA is committed to protecting passenger rights and will take appropriate action after the investigation concludes.
