The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) secures a seven-year conviction for passport fraud against Quadri Adeyinka, a Nigeria Immigration Service staff member. Adeyinka defrauded a victim of ₦100,000 under the pretense of regularizing a passport.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has announced the successful prosecution and conviction of Quadri Adeyinka, a Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) staff member, for passport fraud.

Adeyinka was sentenced to seven years in prison for offenses including gratification, conferment of corrupt advantage, and cheating. The conviction follows evidence presented by the ICPC counsel detailing how Adeyinka defrauded a victim of ₦100,000 under the pretense of regularizing an international passport.

The victim's petition prompted an investigation leading to Adeyinka's arraignment. Judge Jude Onwuegbuzie found Adeyinka guilty on all four counts and imposed concurrent sentences totaling seven years for the most serious charges, with additional sentences for the remaining counts. This case underscores the ICPC's commitment to combating corruption and upholding the law.
