The Nigeria Police Force rejects 10,000 constable recruits due to alleged corruption and irregularities. Names of unqualified candidates were included, and successful applicants' names vanished.
The Nigeria Police Force has rejected the recruitment of 10,000 constables for the 2022/23 exercise, citing widespread irregularities and corruption. According to ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the force spokesperson, numerous complaints and allegations of misconduct prompted the decision, including the inclusion of unqualified candidates and the disappearance of names from the final list.
The published list allegedly included names of individuals who did not apply or participate in the recruitment process, and some candidates failed either the computer-based Test (CBT) or the physical screening.
The Inspector-General of Police raised concerns over financial dealings and corrupt practices, urging the Police Service Commission to address these issues promptly.
