As the Paris 2024 Olympics approaches, Sports Development Minister Senator John Owan-Enoh has called on Nigerians to rally behind Team Nigeria. With just five days until the Games begin, Enoh highlighted the readiness and determination of Nigerian athletes, including world record holders like Oluwatobiloba Amusan and Ese Brume. He emphasized the goal of surpassing Nigeria's best Olympic performance from the 1996 Atlanta Games.

To support the athletes, the Federal House of Representatives has allocated 100 million naira for their welfare, covering domestic and international training allowances, Olympic Games stipends, and performance bonuses. Enoh assured that the athletes' preparation is a top priority, with a focus on ensuring their motivation and success at the Games. A total of 87 athletes will represent Nigeria in 12 different sports, including athletics, swimming, and football.

The Minister's plea for nationwide support underscores the importance of unity and encouragement as Team Nigeria aims to achieve remarkable results on the global stage.
