On Friday, at the Federal University Lokoja in Kogi State, a senior lecturer faced public humiliation after being accused of making sexual advances towards a female student.
The lecturer, unnamed in reports, faced backlash from female undergraduates of the English Department. Stripped down to his boxers, he was intervened by the school’s security. During interrogation, he implicated colleagues, suggesting they influenced grades based on relationships with female students. University spokesperson, Mr. Daniel Iyke, confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation was underway.
The Vice-Chancellor initiated a probe, with the outcome to be disclosed once concluded. Efforts to reach the alleged victim or her father, a serving policeman, were unsuccessful as they avoided contact with reporters.
