Soldiers stationed in the Okuama community in Ughelli South LGA, Delta State, have escalated their demolition of houses after the recent killing of military personnel during a rescue mission. Numerous homes have been razed or torn down, with the military occupying the area. Armored vehicles were deployed to Bomadi creeks following the incident.
President Tinubu ordered the military to apprehend the perpetrators, while Peter Obi condemned the killings as barbaric. Governor Oborevwori described the act as despicable, while PANDEF called for a thorough investigation.
Urhobo Media Advocacy Group demanded an independent probe, and Ijaw youths condemned the violence. Femi Falana urged the government to end reprisal attacks and ensure justice for victims.
