Police in Plateau State have apprehended a man allegedly wearing a Suicide Person-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (SPBIED) inside a local bank in Dadin Kowa town, Jos South LGA.
The incident occurred on May 13, as reported by Zagazola Makama, a publication focused on counter-insurgency in the Lake Chad region. Intelligence sources revealed that the suspect intended to detonate the explosives but was intercepted by a vigilant operative who raised the alarm.
Despite his arrest, an angry mob surrounded him, demanding his immediate execution. It remains unconfirmed whether the suspect has ties to the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP). The suspect is currently in police custody undergoing investigation.
