The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) criticizes President Tinubu's policies, citing their negative impact on Nigeria's economy. Inflation, unemployment, and declining living standards are highlighted, with warnings of potential social unrest.
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has raised concerns about the economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, attributing them to the deteriorating living standards and rising unemployment in Nigeria.
Following a meeting in Kaduna, the ACF issued a statement highlighting the challenges faced by ordinary citizens, including inflation, unemployment, and a decline in living conditions.
The forum warned that if these issues are not addressed promptly, they could lead to social unrest, particularly in the northern region.
In the communique signed by Professor Tukur Muhammad-Baba, the ACF criticized policies such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the introduction of new taxes and levies, which it believes have exacerbated the economic hardships faced by Nigerians.
The forum called on the government to take urgent action to improve the living conditions of citizens and address the widening regional disparities in access to essential services and infrastructure.
Additionally, the ACF emphasized the need for public officials to demonstrate fiscal responsibility and accountability in their expenditure of public funds. While acknowledging the efforts made by governments at various levels to tackle these challenges, the ACF stressed that more decisive action is needed to alleviate the suffering of the people and restore hope for a better future.
