Singer Rema has pledged a significant donation to his childhood church, Christ Embassy in Benin, founded by Chris Oyakhilome. During his recent homecoming concert, Rema visited the church and expressed his gratitude for its support over the years.
He announced a donation of N105 million, including N85 million for church construction, N20 million to the Rhapsody of Realities, and an additional N25 million for the church's teen infrastructure. Rema also pledged N20 million to support a widow from the congregation.
The artist recalled how the church helped his family financially after the death of his father, including providing a shop for his mother, which was crucial for their survival. Rema, who gained fame with D’Prince’s Jonzing World and Mavin Records, has won accolades such as ‘Best Male Artiste’ and ‘Digital Artiste Of The Year’ at the Headies, and his recent album 'He Is' set a streaming record on Spotify Nigeria.
