Nigerian fashion entrepreneur Zahani Kuma, popularly known as Mr Reliable, has etched his name in the annals of history by completing a staggering 115-hour ironing marathon. The marathon, held at the Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja from April 23 to 28, was a bid to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest continuous ironing session.
Inspired by his upbringing and the desire to support children facing academic challenges, Mr Reliable embarked on this extraordinary endeavor to raise funds for his NGO. As an orphan who had to overcome numerous obstacles to pursue education, Mr Reliable's journey symbolizes hope and resilience, resonating deeply with spectators worldwide.
Mr Reliable's Guinness World Record attempt comes after his application was approved in November 2023, setting the stage for a grueling five-day ordeal of ironing without rest. His unwavering commitment to the cause was evident as he tirelessly pressed on, fueled by the conviction to make a meaningful impact in the lives of disadvantaged children. Through social media, Mr Reliable shared his journey, garnering support and encouragement from followers who were captivated by his determination.
This historic achievement adds another chapter to Nigeria's growing list of Guinness World Records, following in the footsteps of individuals like Clara Kronborg, who recently set a record for the longest interviewing marathon.
