In a surprising turn of events, the Isiokpo community in Rivers State has announced its decision to initiate a traditional investigation into the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Herbert Wigwe, his wife, and one of their children.
Disregarding conventional methods, the community's traditional leadership body declared their intent during a procession marking the start of an eight-day mourning period for the late CEO of Access Holdings.
The procession, attended by residents who fondly remembered Wigwe's generosity, saw the entire community don black attire as a sign of mourning. At the palace of the Traditional Ruler, King Blessing Wagor, mourners gathered to pay their respects, lamenting the loss of Wigwe's impactful presence in the community.
The king expressed deep sorrow over Wigwe's passing and vowed that the community would conduct a traditional probe into the circumstances of his death, refusing to bury him outside Isiokpo.
Additionally, youth leaders called for thorough investigations by federal and state authorities, questioning the circumstances surrounding the helicopter crash. Despite the grief, the community is determined to honor Wigwe's legacy by preserving his dreams and aspirations for the betterment of Isiokpo and beyond.
