Vice President Kashim Shettima embarks on a two-day visit to Sweden for bilateral talks on economic and technology partnerships. Meetings with Sweden’s Crown Princess and Norrsken highlight discussions on expanding Nigerian tech growth, sustainable development, and business investment. The visit emphasizes Nigeria’s reform agenda for foreign investors.

Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to depart Abuja on Wednesday for a two-day visit to Sweden, representing Nigeria in a series of high-level bilateral discussions. According to his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima's trip, prompted by President Bola Tinubu, will focus on strengthening cooperation with Sweden in several key areas, including technology, innovation, education, and sustainable transportation.

During his visit, Shettima will meet with Crown Princess Victoria and the Swedish Prime Minister, as well as engage with various government officials and private sector leaders. Notably, he is scheduled to hold discussions with Norrsken, a Stockholm-based venture capital firm with a strong interest in Africa. Norrsken recently launched Norrsken22, a $205 million tech fund, which aims to support African entrepreneurs, with approximately 40 percent of its investments earmarked for Nigerian businesses.

This visit is also an opportunity for the Vice President to articulate Nigeria's economic vision and highlight ongoing reforms aimed at making the country a more attractive destination for foreign investors. Accompanying Shettima will be twelve Nigerian private sector companies, forming a delegation focused on expanding business ties with Swedish counterparts.

Shettima’s engagements are expected to pave the way for enhanced collaboration between Nigeria and Sweden in sectors critical to both nations. He is anticipated to return to Nigeria by Saturday, following a productive series of meetings in Stockholm.
