NNPP's Hashim Dungurawa accuses Tinubu of manipulating Kano's Emir controversy to favor Aminu Ado Bayero, citing Yoruba ties. He warns of electoral consequences in 2027.

In a contentious statement to journalists in Kano, Hashim Dungurawa, the NNPP's Kano State chairman, accused President Bola Tinubu of wielding undue influence to maintain Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano, in power.

Dungurawa emphasized that despite the reinstatement of Sanusi Lamido as the 16th Emir, Bayero remains ensconced at the Nassarawa GRA mini palace, guarded by federal security agencies. He criticized this protection as undermining the state government's authority, alleging Tinubu's involvement to secure Bayero's position due to their shared Yoruba heritage.

Dungurawa warned of potential backlash against Tinubu in the 2027 elections if this perceived interference persists, urging a resolution to the Kano Emirate dispute and a review of Kano's 2019 election outcomes, challenging the legitimacy of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje's reelection.
