The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) achieved a remarkable victory in the recent local government elections held in Kano State, winning all 44 chairmanship positions and 484 councillorship seats. The Kano Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) officially announced the results on October 26, 2024, at its headquarters in Kano.

Professor Sani Lawan Malunfashi, the chairman of KANSIEC, confirmed that the commission successfully planned and executed the elections, highlighting the peaceful atmosphere that characterized the electoral process. He commended various stakeholders, including security agencies, media organizations, and community leaders, for their roles in ensuring the elections were conducted fairly and transparently.

Professor Malunfashi emphasized the commission's commitment to upholding democratic principles and the importance of public participation in grassroots governance. He expressed gratitude to the people of Kano State for their support and positive engagement throughout the electoral process.
