The Presidency refutes NLC President Joe Ajaero's claims that President Tinubu broke an agreement on fuel prices, labeling the allegations as "dirty politics." Presidential aide Abdulaziz Abdulaziz insists no such deal was made during meetings with labor leaders, accusing Ajaero of manipulating public emotions for political gain.

The Presidency has refuted allegations made by Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Joe Ajaero, who claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reneged on an agreement with labor leaders by raising the petrol price.

Ajaero asserted that labor accepted the new ₦70,000 minimum wage with the understanding that fuel prices would not increase. However, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Print Media, dismissed these allegations as "dirty politics," stating that he attended the meetings between President Tinubu and labor leaders and no such deal was ever discussed.

Abdulaziz accused Ajaero of manipulating the emotions of Nigerians for political gain. The exchange highlights the tension between the government and labor unions over economic policies affecting the populace.
