The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) has denied claims of being the sole distributor for Dangote Refinery. Refuting allegations from MURIC, NNPC clarified that product pricing is determined by global market forces, and Dangote Refinery remains free to sell to any marketer in a deregulated market.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has refuted claims that it seeks to be the sole distributor for the Dangote Refinery. In response to allegations from the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), the NNPC clarified that its recent changes in petrol prices do not affect the Dangote Refinery's ability to sell its products. The NNPC emphasized that pricing for petroleum products, including those from the Dangote Refinery, is driven by global market forces.

The company also stated that refineries, including Dangote's, are free to sell directly to any marketer in a deregulated market. NNPC assured the public that it has no plans to monopolize the distribution of Dangote Refinery products, noting its billion-dollar investment in the project.

The company urged MURIC to verify facts before making misleading statements that could provoke public sentiment against NNPC.
