President Bola Tinubu has announced free nationwide train services for the Yuletide season, running from December 20 to January 5. The Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP) have praised the initiative, calling it a thoughtful gesture that alleviates travel burdens and brings joy to Nigerians during the holiday season.

President Bola Tinubu’s initiative to offer free train services nationwide during the Yuletide season has been widely applauded by the Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP). The group described the move as a thoughtful gesture that alleviates the financial burden of travel for Nigerians during the festive period.

In a statement issued by the NCYP’s chairman, Isaac Abrak, the group emphasized that the free train services, which will be available from December 20 to January 5, would make it easier for families to celebrate Christmas and New Year together. Abrak praised the president’s compassion for the common man and his commitment to ensuring that government policies directly benefit the masses.

However, while the NCYP expressed appreciation for the initiative, it also urged the Nigerian Railway Corporation to address operational challenges that affected the smooth implementation of the same initiative last year. Issues such as the unavailability of free tickets caused difficulties for commuters, and the group called for these concerns to be resolved this year to ensure that the service runs efficiently.

In addition to supporting the training initiative, the group commended Nigeria's security agencies for their efforts in maintaining safety and stability, particularly in the northern regions. NCYP called on all Nigerians, especially Christians, to pray for the president and the country's leadership, wishing for continued peace and prosperity throughout the holiday season.
