Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has issued a stern directive to all appointees from the North within the current administration, urging them to publicly rally behind President Bola Tinubu.
Specifically targeting Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Special Adviser to the President on political matters in the office of the Vice President, Matawalle's call for allegiance follows perceived criticisms against the federal government by Baba-Ahmed, a former spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF).
The tension escalated after Baba-Ahmed questioned the achievements of the Tinubu administration, prompting Matawalle to challenge appointees to actively defend and promote the government they serve.
In response, Matawalle emphasized the duty of all appointees, including Baba-Ahmed, to uphold and advocate for the accomplishments of the Tinubu administration, asserting that silence in the face of opposition is unacceptable.
