Nigerian businessman and nightlife icon, Obi Cubana, marked his 50th birthday with a grand celebration tagged “50 for 50” in Abuja on April 12, 2025. The event brought together celebrities, socialites, and families in a mix of faith, glamour, and generosity.
Cubana, whose real name is Obinna Iyiegbu, kicked off the festivities with a soulful thanksgiving and communion service before switching gears to a weekend of luxury-themed parties. His wife, Ebele, popularly known as Lush Eby, penned a heartfelt tribute on social media calling him “her gift.”
Samsung Nigeria hosted a pre-birthday soirée, gifting 50 Galaxy S25 smartphones to guests. Cultural performers, highlife stars, and a special tribute song by Anyidons set the tone for an unforgettable weekend.
One of the biggest surprises came from Enviable Transport boss, Ituma Chukwuemeka, who gifted the celebrant 50 new tricycles. CIG Motors matched the energy with 50 mini-buses, branded with Obi Cubana’s face. Sonia Foods added 2,000 cartons of tomatoes, and lucky guests also received fashion gifts courtesy of Lush Eby.
The final celebration, held at the Transcorp Hilton, featured a stunning black, white, and gold theme, complete with crystal chandeliers, floral masterpieces, and giant portraits. Guests included Kanayo O. Kanayo, Cubana Chief Priest, AY, E-Money, Zubby Michael, and more.
