Chief Iwuanyanwu, who was 82 years old, served as the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural organization representing the Igbo people.

The news of his death was confirmed by his son, Jide Iwuanyanwu, in a statement released to the press. According to the family, the revered leader died after a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy of service and leadership.

Chief Iwuanyanwu was not only the head of Ohanaeze Ndigbo but also held the position of President of the Owerri Peoples Assembly. His influence extended beyond cultural spheres, as he was known for his contributions to various sectors of Nigerian society.

The late Chief, often referred to as "Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo," hailed from Umuohii Atta in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State. He is survived by his wife, Lady Princess Frances Iwuanyanwu, as well as numerous children and grandchildren
