The Ohanaeze Youth Council has commended President Bola Tinubu and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu for their roles in signing the South East Development Commission (SEDC) bill into law. The council urges further developmental projects in the Southeast and calls for the political resolution of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu’s situation.
The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has expressed its appreciation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu for their significant contributions to the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC). In a press briefing held in Owerri, Imo State, on Wednesday, OYC President Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka commended President Tinubu for his swift action in signing the SEDC bill into law. “We commend President Tinubu for signing the bill into law in record time, ensuring even development across the country,” Igboayaka stated.
The youth leader also acknowledged Kalu's diligent efforts in making the bill a reality, emphasizing that Kalu's collaboration with the President has been invaluable for the Igbo community. "Ndigbo are not ingrates; we appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for breaking the jinx of 54 years," Igboayaka added, highlighting the historic nature of this legislative achievement.
Furthermore, the OYC urged President Tinubu to initiate additional developmental projects in the Southeast and suggested a political solution regarding the release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu. This call for further action reflects the youth council's commitment to fostering growth and unity within the region while reinforcing the importance of ongoing dialogue with the federal government.
