The Oluwo of Iwo, Abdulrasheed Akanbi, accuses the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, of plotting his removal. Despite claims of betrayal and attempts to destabilize his leadership, Oluwo asserts his position is secure, declaring that no one can remove him unless they undo his role in Ogunwusi's rise to power.

The Oluwo of Iwo, Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has publicly accused the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, of plotting to remove him from his throne, despite the key role he played in helping Ogunwusi become Ooni. In a video that surfaced recently, Oluwo recalled how he intervened in a legal matter that could have delayed Ogunwusi's enthronement as the Ooni of Ife. According to Oluwo, he personally reached out to resolve the court case surrounding Ogunwusi’s appointment, ensuring he was crowned king just days later.

However, Oluwo claims that after his support in Ogunwusi’s ascension, the Ooni has since turned against him. The Oluwo alleges that Ogunwusi has actively worked to undermine his leadership by orchestrating his suspension from the Osun State Council of Obas and using certain kings within Iwoland to create unrest in his domain. He also accuses the Ooni of involving his former wife in the scheme.

Despite the Ooni’s supposed efforts, Oluwo is adamant that no one can remove him as the Oluwo of Iwo, stating that only his earlier support for Ogunwusi’s rise to power could lead to his downfall. He maintains that he will remain steadfast in his position, asserting that no external forces will break him.
