Nigeria clinched the gold medal in the 4x400m Mixed Relay event at the ongoing African Games in Ghana, thanks to an outstanding performance by athlete Omolara Ogunmakinju.

Ogunmakinju's remarkable anchor leg saw her erase a 15-meter deficit and surge past Botswana in the final 30 meters, securing victory for Nigeria. The Nigerian team completed the race in a blistering time of 3:13.26, while Botswana, despite setting a new national record of 3:13.99, had to settle for silver.
