Omotola’s ordeal began during a busy period when she was working on her films and attending an Academy Voting Members’ screening for Gladiator II. While at the screening, her condition worsened, and she found it difficult to sit up due to the intense pain. Despite the discomfort, she pushed through, but by the next morning, the symptoms escalated, and she was rushed to the hospital for the third time in one week.
Doctors performed a series of scans, revealing that her gallbladder was severely dilated and required immediate surgery. Omotola described the experience as a "fight for her life" and shared her gratitude for surviving the ordeal.
