Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has been declared the winner of the 2024 governorship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed his victory after he won in all 18 local government areas of the state. Aiyedatiwa secured a total of 366,781 votes, defeating his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 117,845 votes.
The final results were announced by the State Returning Officer, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, who confirmed that Aiyedatiwa had met the constitutional requirements for the governorship seat. Aiyedatiwa’s victory was sealed after winning in Ese Odo Local Government, the last to be announced, following earlier wins in the remaining 17 local councils.
