Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State, delivered a unifying message of inclusivity and collaboration after securing the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket in a hotly contested primary election. Defeating 15 formidable opponents, Aiyedatiwa, who previously served as deputy to the late Rotimi Akeredolu, emphasized that victory for the party entails collective gains, albeit at different times.
Acknowledging and thanking each aspirant who participated in the primary, Aiyedatiwa commended their contributions in mobilizing party members and fostering democratic engagement. He highlighted the importance of their involvement in enriching democracy and strengthening the party's presence within and beyond the state.
Reflecting on the inevitable discord that often accompanies democratic contests, Aiyedatiwa called for unity and solidarity among party members. He urged against holding grudges and emphasized the imperative of working together for the success of the APC and the advancement of the state.
Expressing confidence in the collective future of the party, Aiyedatiwa assured aspirants of eventual gains within the APC, albeit at different junctures. He lauded their courage and commitment to leading the state towards development, affirming their qualifications and worthiness as members of the party.
In a gesture of gratitude, Aiyedatiwa extended special thanks to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President and Leader of the APC, for his leadership. He concluded his address by encouraging everyone to unite their efforts in building a prosperous and inclusive future for Ondo State.
