Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and incumbent governor of Ondo State, expressed confidence in his chances of winning the ongoing governorship election. After casting his vote at polling unit 05, Igbo Ward 4 in Ilaje Local Government Area, Aiyedatiwa commended the peaceful voting process and robust security measures in place.

Speaking to journalists, he applauded the commitment of security agencies to maintaining order and ensuring a calm atmosphere across the state. "Ondo State remains one of the most peaceful in the country, and I believe this election will reflect that standard," he stated.

The governor emphasized the credibility of the election process, noting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had executed seamless accreditation procedures in his polling unit. He expressed hope that similar efficiency was being upheld across other polling stations.

Encouraging residents to cast their votes, Aiyedatiwa highlighted his administration's achievements over the past ten months as a testament to his capability. He also underscored his extensive campaign efforts, revealing that he had visited all 18 local government areas in the state to engage directly with voters.

“I believe the electorate knows who they want and what they want,” he added. “Based on our efforts and accomplishments, I am optimistic about the outcome.”

Aiyedatiwa concluded by urging citizens to exercise their franchise without intimidation and assured them of a credible, transparent election process.
