PDP candidate Agboola Ajayi has accused INEC of bias during the Ondo governorship election, citing delays, BVAS failures, and vote buying. Ajayi expressed disappointment with the electoral process and urged Nigerians to hold INEC accountable for credible elections, highlighting the need for improved transparency in Nigeria's democratic practices.

Agboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the ongoing Ondo State governorship election, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of bias and electoral malpractice. Ajayi, who served as the state’s former deputy governor, made these claims shortly after voting at Polling Unit 004, located at Idimado Quarters in Ese Odo Local Government Area on Saturday.

In a video circulating on social media, Ajayi expressed frustration over delays in the election process, alleging that voting was hindered in some parts of the state. He revealed that it took about 10 minutes before he was able to cast his vote, calling this a deliberate attempt to frustrate the electorate. "The system has been compromised. Sadly, INEC can’t conduct elections well in one state. Just one state,” he said.

Ajayi also claimed that reports from several parts of the state pointed to the malfunctioning of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and widespread incidents of vote-buying. He strongly criticized INEC for the technical glitches, urging Nigerians to call on INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, to address these issues.

The election, which is key to Ondo State’s political landscape, has raised concerns about the integrity of the process. Ajayi’s comments add to the growing skepticism surrounding INEC’s handling of the poll, as the PDP candidate insists that the system’s flaws need urgent attention.
