Food critic Opeyemi Famakin defends Chef T after actress Wumi Toriola calls her out for ignoring a collaboration request. Famakin argues that Chef T isn't obligated to partner with anyone, sparking an online debate. Toriola fires back, questioning Famakin’s credibility, as social media users react to the controversy.

Nigerian food critic Opeyemi Famakin has weighed in on the social media clash between actress Wumi Toriola and celebrity food blogger Tolani Osikoya, popularly known as Chef T.

The controversy erupted on March 13, 2025, after Wumi Toriola publicly criticized Chef T for allegedly ignoring her request for a collaboration. This followed speculation surrounding Funke Akindele unfollowing several social media influencers, including Chef T.

In response, Famakin took to Instagram, firmly backing Chef T and condemning Toriola’s public callout. He argued that Chef T has a track record of collaborating with both established and rising influencers, stressing that no one is entitled to a partnership.

“We don’t do Chef T slander here. She’s a sweetheart, contributing positively to the food industry in Nigeria and Africa. I won’t stand by while someone drags her over a declined collaboration,” Famakin stated.

Toriola, unimpressed by Famakin’s stance, hit back in his comment section. She dismissed his remarks as attention-seeking, questioning his credibility as a food critic. The actress accused him of doing more harm than good to entrepreneurs under the guise of criticism.

Their exchange quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from social media users. While some sided with Famakin, others believed Toriola had a right to call out Chef T. Many urged both parties to handle the matter privately instead of fueling online drama.

The debate continues to spark discussion in the entertainment and food blogging communities.
