Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, recently addressed concerns regarding the implementation of the Steve Oronsaye Report, clarifying that no specific timeline has been set. Speaking after his visit to the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) headquarters in Abuja, he reassured the public that the Federal Government is diligently preparing for the policy’s rollout.

Gbajabiamila acknowledged the ongoing discussions about the report over the past few months, emphasizing the importance of careful planning for its implementation. He noted that a committee has been established to review the report and finalize its details, highlighting the report's complexity.

While he could not provide an exact date for when the implementation would begin, Gbajabiamila promised that it would occur "soon." He reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring thoroughness in the process, stating, “We don’t want to sacrifice thoroughness on the altar of anxiety.” His remarks aimed to alleviate concerns about potential delays and reaffirmed the government's dedication to properly executing the recommendations of the Oronsaye Report.
