Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray defeated Tottenham 3-2 in the UEFA Europa League. Despite Spurs' late rally and a red card, Osimhen's goals, along with Dries Mertens’ assists, led Galatasaray to victory. Tottenham's defense faltered, leaving them unable to recover from the early and mid-match setbacks.

Victor Osimhen delivered a match-winning performance as Galatasaray secured a 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in their UEFA Europa League encounter on Thursday. The Nigerian striker’s double was enough to ensure the Turkish giants took all three points despite Spurs’ late efforts to mount a comeback.

The match started at a frantic pace with Galatasaray taking the lead early on. Yunus Akgun’s stunning strike from the edge of the box in the sixth minute gave the hosts a quick advantage. Tottenham responded swiftly, with Will Lankshear scoring his first senior goal for the club, tapping in a cross from Brennan Johnson in the 20th minute.

However, Galatasaray regained the lead through Osimhen, who netted in the 32nd minute after a well-timed pass split the Spurs defense. Despite a disallowed goal earlier, Osimhen doubled his tally shortly after, flicking the ball past Spurs keeper Fraser Forster with a deft touch to make it 3-1.

Tottenham's woes deepened when Lankshear was sent off for a second yellow card, but they fought back with substitute Dominic Solanke pulling a goal back in the 80th minute. Despite a late surge, including a near miss from Dejan Kulusevski, Spurs could not find an equalizer.

Osimhen’s goals, combined with creative play from Dries Mertens, were key to Galatasaray’s dominance, while Spurs struggled with defensive lapses, particularly from Radu Dragusin.
