Despite a challenging 100-48 loss to the USA, Nigeria's national women's basketball team, D'Tigress, secured qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

This accomplishment followed Senegal's loss to hosts Belgium, coupled with Nigeria's earlier victory over Senegal.

The Antwerp qualification series aimed to allocate two additional spots from the four participating teams, excluding the USA and France, according to FIBA.

D'Tigress' crucial comeback win against Senegal proved decisive, particularly after Senegal's subsequent defeat. Coach Rena Wakama and player Elizabeth Balogun addressed the slow start against the USA, acknowledging the need for urgency and fire from the onset.

Despite efforts to rally in the second half, the deficit proved insurmountable against a formidable opponent. Meanwhile, other FIBA Olympics Women qualifiers continue worldwide, with teams vying for remaining slots.

With France, the USA, Belgium, and now Nigeria already qualified, D'Tigress, under Coach Wakama's guidance, aim to surpass their 11th place finish at the 2020 Olympic Games.
