This image, which circulated widely on social media, showed Adeboye in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, leading many to believe he had embraced Islam. In his remarks at the first Holy Ghost Night of 2025, held on January 4, Adeboye humorously acknowledged the image, stating, “I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an alhaji.” He dismissed the portrayal, emphasizing that it was a product of artificial intelligence, not reality.
In addition to addressing the mockery surrounding the image, Adeboye spoke on broader spiritual concerns. He predicted that 2025 would witness significant global events, including a major earthquake, and urged prayers for peace amid ongoing global conflicts. He also expressed confidence that Nigeria would soon experience peace after the church's ongoing 100-day fast, during which members are focusing on prayer for the country’s progress.
