Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) convened in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, to address pressing issues concerning the party's unity. The meeting, held at the Delta State Government House on Friday, brought together several governors elected on the PDP platform.
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori welcomed his counterparts, who donned traditional South-South attire for the occasion. The gathering followed a gala night on Thursday at the banquet hall of the Government House, where key party stakeholders also participated.
Among the governors in attendance were Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), and Ahmed Fintiri (Adamawa).
The meeting comes at a critical time as the PDP navigates internal conflicts threatening its cohesion. Discussions reportedly focused on strategies to strengthen the party ahead of future political contests.
