The Digest:
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) has summoned an expanded meeting in Abuja to chart a way forward following the Appeal Court ruling that nullified the party's November 2025 national convention in Ibadan. The meeting, chaired by BoT chairman Adolphus Wabara, includes Governors Bala Mohammed (Bauchi) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo), as well as Bode George and other leaders. Meanwhile, the National Caretaker Working Committee faction backed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike insists on proceeding with its planned national convention on March 29-30, claiming the court ruling affirms them as the authentic leadership. Addressing journalists, faction chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed said the committee is "the only legitimate body that can present a candidate in the build-up to 2027." Makinde, now one of only two PDP governors (with Mohammed) after Zamfara's Dauda Lawal defected, said: "We are only two remaining, but we are not bothered." Wabara described the judgment as "an order for the party to begin again."
