Popular Ibadan broadcaster Oriyomi Hamzat says he’s confident of winning the Oyo governorship seat in 2027—if he chooses to run. Responding to a skeptical caller during a live show, Hamzat dismissed doubts about public support and criticised unsolicited political advice.
  • Live Show Declaration: Hamzat says he’ll win if he contests in 2027.
  • Caller Warning Rejected: A listener had advised him not to trust public praise as electoral support.
  • Hamzat Responds: “I have my brain. Stop advising me like that.”
  • Campaign Posters Emerge: "2027 Oyo n pe o" banners seen in parts of Ibadan.
  • Firm Stand: “Don’t use yesterday to judge today. I know what I’m doing.”
Oriyomi Hamzat, the founder of Agidigbo FM, has hinted strongly at entering the 2027 Oyo governorship race. During a live broadcast, a caller from abroad urged him to reconsider, warning that voters may not reward his popularity with votes.

But Hamzat wasn’t having it. “I don’t want to hear such advice again,” he said firmly. “If I contest, I’ll win.” He criticised the logic of predicting defeat based on past voter behaviour and insisted that decisions about his political future would be made with clear judgment, not crowd noise or unsolicited commentary.

With early campaign posters already appearing across Ibadan, Oriyomi Hamzat’s remarks suggest more than just speculation. His candid dismissal of political naysayers reflects a growing confidence in his grassroots appeal—and could be a preview of a real race come 2027.
