Pep Guardiola admitted responsibility for Manchester City's shocking 2-1 derby loss to Manchester United, continuing a dismal run of one win in 11 games. Late goals by Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo completed United's comeback, leaving City nine points behind leaders Liverpool and outside the Champions League spots.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has taken full accountability for his team’s recent struggles following a dramatic 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the derby. Despite taking the lead through Josko Gvardiol’s first-half header, City suffered a late collapse, conceding twice in the final minutes.

This defeat marks City’s eighth loss in their last 11 matches, a worrying trend for the defending Premier League champions. With just one win during this stretch, Guardiola’s team has slipped to fifth place, nine points behind league leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand.

Reflecting on the disappointing run, Guardiola admitted, “I’m the manager, and I haven’t found the solution. When you lose eight out of 11 games, something is fundamentally wrong.”

City seemed poised for a much-needed victory until a costly error by Matheus Nunes turned the game around. Nunes’ misplaced pass allowed Amad Diallo to intercept, and in his attempt to recover, he conceded a penalty. Bruno Fernandes calmly converted the spot-kick in the 88th minute to level the score.

Moments later, Diallo capitalized on a long ball, securing United’s winner and deepening City’s struggles.

Guardiola acknowledged the difficulties of maintaining success, saying, “I expected challenges this season, but this has been harder than I anticipated.”

The defeat not only extends City’s poor form but also raises questions about their ability to recover in the title race.
