The visit, following Obi’s meeting with Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, was focused on discussing national matters.
Obi shared the visit's details on his social media, explaining that it was an opportunity to wish Babangida a Happy New Year and engage in meaningful discussions about the state of the nation. Obi described Babangida as a "father figure, elder statesman, and leader," highlighting the value of his counsel.
