Obi described her comments as hateful and divisive, emphasizing that such rhetoric has no place in society. He urged Nigerians to unite and focus on shared goals instead of succumbing to tribalism. Highlighting the futility of bigotry, he questioned what benefits arise from such divisive attitudes and called for peace and integrity in leadership.

The Nigerian House of Representatives has responded by demanding that the Canadian government investigate Sunnberger, who remains defiant despite the backlash.
